A brief History
Ardnamurchan, Highlands Region, Scotland. Founded in 2014
Remote, Rugged, Remarkably Good
Let’s get something out of the way — Ardnamurchan isn’t the easiest place to get to. Tucked away on the wild west coast of the Scottish Highlands, it’s a remote peninsula where the roads are twisty, the views are cinematic, and mobile signal is basically a myth. But what you’ll find at the end of that winding journey is one of Scotland’s most exciting young distilleries.
Opened in 2014, Ardnamurchan is part of Adelphi, a well-respected independent bottler with a serious eye for quality. Unlike some new distilleries that rush out young whisky just to grab shelf space, Ardnamurchan took its time. And it shows — their first single malt, launched in 2020, was met with instant fanfare.
What makes it stand out? A mix of peaty and unpeated spirit, sustainability-driven production, and a coastal location that adds serious personality to the dram.
