A brief History

Bankhall, Liverpool. Founded in 1790.

British Whisky with a Fresh Twist

Bankhall might sound like an old-school name from whisky history — and that’s kind of the point. The brand takes its name from the historic Bank Hall Distillery in Liverpool, which once existed back in the 19th century. Today, though, Bankhall is a modern British whisky brand brought back to life with a fresh identity. It’s part of a growing movement to make whisky in Britain that stands tall on its own — not Scotch, not Irish, not American, but proudly British.

Bankhall isn’t about following old whisky rules. It's known for using a mix of bourbon and virgin oak casks, and even triple distilling its single malt — something you’d expect more from Irish whiskey. It’s bold, it's sweet, and it doesn’t pretend to be something it’s not. You won’t find an ancient castle or cobblestone warehouse here. What you will find is proper whisky made with character, designed for both sipping and mixing. If you're into rich flavour and a fresh take on tradition, Bankhall's worth a look.

Flavour Profile:

Fruity

Sweet

Oaky / Woody

Bankhall is known for smooth, rich malts that balance sweetness with gentle spice and woody depth. You’ll often find notes of toffee, baked fruits, warm vanilla, and a touch of cinnamon or toasted oak. Their Cask Strength editions add more punch, while their British Blended Whisky keeps things soft and easy-going. It’s a great intro whisky for newer drinkers — and still interesting enough for seasoned fans.
