Everything you need to know about Delamain Distillery

A brief History
Delamain, France. Founded in 1824.
Where Patience Meets Purity in Every Drop
Delamain isn’t just another Cognac house — it’s one of the oldest family-run names still standing. Based in the quiet town of Jarnac in France’s Cognac region, Delamain dates its roots back to the mid-1700s, officially launching in 1824. But age isn’t just something you’ll find on a timeline here — it’s what defines every bottle they release.
Unlike most Cognac producers, Delamain works only with eaux-de-vie from the Grande Champagne cru, the top-growing area known for producing the most elegant and age-worthy Cognacs. And they don’t bottle anything younger than XO level — that’s a 10+ year minimum, but in Delamain’s case, it often means decades. There's no rush in their cellars.
Their focus? Subtlety, purity, and natural character. They don’t use caramel colour, artificial sweeteners, or chill filtration. What you get is honest Cognac, gently aged and full of character. It’s not flashy — it’s deeply refined.

Delamain Cognac is renowned for its smooth, elegant, and fruit-forward profile. These aren’t loud, aggressive spirits. Instead, they whisper layers of dried fruit, vanilla, oak, and honey with a refined richness that builds slowly. Think stewed apricots, toasted spice, and soft florals wrapped in gentle oak. Older expressions bring in notes of tobacco, leather, and delicate rancio — that deep, savoury note unique to well-aged Cognac.
