A brief History
Edradour, Highlands Region, Scotland. Founded in 1825
Scotland's Tiny Giant with a Big Personality
Tucked away in the rolling hills near Pitlochry, Edradour proudly holds the title of one of Scotland’s smallest traditional distilleries. But don’t let its size fool you—what it lacks in scale, it more than makes up for in heart, history, and a knack for producing bold, characterful single malts.
Originally established in 1825, Edradour has weathered over a century of change. It's a distillery with a truly handmade approach to whisky making. We're talking about a place where just three people used to run the whole show. That’s not romanticising—it’s just how things were. Even now, it holds tight to traditional methods, with wooden washbacks and worm tubs still in use.
Over time, Edradour has carved out a bit of a cult following among whisky lovers. It offers a broad range of single malts that swing from sherry-soaked richness to peated punchiness under the Ballechin label. Small but mighty, Edradour gives you that rare, unfiltered taste of how whisky was made in the old days—only now with a few more Instagrammable moments.

Edradour is known for its bold, sherried single malts, often rich and full-bodied with an unmistakable fruity sweetness. Under its Ballechin name, you’ll find the smokier, peat-forward expressions. Whichever route you go down, expect a whisky that’s anything but boring.
