Glenfarclas, which means “valley of the green grass” in Gaelic, has been producing whisky since 1836. But here’s the part that makes it special: it’s been in the hands of the same family — the Grants — since 1865. That makes it one of the last truly independent distilleries in Scotland.
Nestled in the heart of Speyside near Ballindalloch, Glenfarclas is best known for its rich, sherry-cask matured single malts — whiskies that are bold, nutty, full of fruit and spice, and just plain satisfying.
