A brief History

Glenmorangie, Highlands Region, Scotland. Founded in 1843

Tall Stills, Big Ideas

If Glenmorangie were a person, it’d be that effortlessly stylish friend — always well-dressed, a little quirky, and somehow ahead of the trend. Based in the Highland town of Tain, Glenmorangie (say it “glen-MOR-an-jee”) is one of the most recognised and beloved single malts in Scotland — and far beyond.

Founded in 1843, Glenmorangie is known for two things: incredibly tall stills (taller than a giraffe, seriously) and its obsession with cask finishes. While many distilleries stick to traditional bourbon or sherry ageing, Glenmorangie was one of the first to explore wine casks, port pipes, Sauternes, and more — and do it well.

Owned today by the luxury group LVMH, Glenmorangie leans into elegance and experimentation, making it a favourite for both new drinkers and seasoned whisky fans.

Taste Profile

Fruity

Sweet Spicy

Glenmorangie is the definition of refined Highland whisky — think smooth textures, floral notes, and well-balanced sweetness. It's a crowd-pleaser but still clever enough to hold your attention.

Glenmorangie is renowned for its elegant, layered single malts. The house style is fruity and creamy, often finished in exotic wine casks that add complexity and brightness. Key flavour characteristics include:

  • Soft vanilla and floral top notes

  • Ripe orchard fruit — think peaches and pears

  • Zesty citrus and light spice

  • Silky texture with a long, graceful finish
