What makes Paul John stand out is its environment. Goa has a hot, tropical climate, which has a big effect on how whisky matures. The spirit interacts with the cask much faster than it would in Scotland, meaning the whisky develops flavour quickly. That’s why even younger Paul John whiskies can feel rich and well-rounded.
The distillery uses Indian six-row barley and traditional copper pot stills, combining classic production methods with local conditions. The result is a style that feels familiar in structure but different in intensity.
