A brief History
Tomintoul, Speyside Region, Scotland. Founded in 1964
The Gentle Dram from the Livet Glen
Tomintoul (pronounced Tom-in-TOWEL) is often called “the gentle dram”, and it absolutely lives up to the name. Perched high in the Cairngorms, deep in the Speyside hills, this distillery quietly produces some of the smoothest, most approachable single malts in Scotland.
Founded in 1964, Tomintoul is a bit of a newcomer in the grand scheme of Scotch. But don’t let the relative youth fool you — it’s built a reputation for crafting light, elegant whiskies that are incredibly easy to enjoy. It's named after the nearby village of Tomintoul, which is one of the highest settlements in the Highlands.
While Speyside is known for soft and fruity styles, Tomintoul takes that even further. These are whiskies that don’t shout. They hum, purr, and politely invite you to pour another dram.
