Overview & History

Wild Turkey is one of the most established Kentucky bourbon brands, with production roots dating back to the 19th century. The modern brand identity developed in the 1940s, when a whiskey sample taken on a wild turkey hunting trip led to the name being adopted commercially.

The distillery is located in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, and has long been associated with Master Distiller Jimmy Russell and later Eddie Russell, making it one of the most recognisable family-led production teams in bourbon.

Wild Turkey is currently owned by Campari Group.
