Game of Thrones Whisky Clynelish House Tyrell Tasting Review

Why This Bottle?

I’m working my way through the Game of Thrones whisky line-up. First up: Clynelish House Tyrell. Clynelish is a Highland distillery that usually sits a bit under the radar. Pairing it with House Tyrell (the green-fingered bunch from Highgarden) feels spot-on: bright, floral, a touch fancy, but not too showy.

First Impressions

I poured a wee dram and let it sit for five minutes. No swirling, no fuss. It smells of fresh apples, a dash of honey, and a faint seaside note – like walking past a harbour on holiday. Simple but inviting.

The Taste (Keepin’ It Plain)

  • Sweet bite: Think toffee and green apple sweets.

  • Little kick of spice: More cinnamon bun than hot chilli.

  • Dry finish: Hangs around with a soft lick of salt.

That’s it. No need for fancy words. It tastes good and feels balanced.

Would I Buy It Again?

If you’re keen on the Game of Thrones whisky set or collect limited editions, yes. Flavour-wise, it’s pleasant but not mind-blowing. I’d happily pour it for friends who prefer lighter drams.

Final Sip

Clynelish House Tyrell is bright, easy, and slightly salty – like a coastal spring day. Not the king of the Seven Kingdoms, but a solid player. Give it a go, tag me on X @lochsofwhisky, and let me know your score.
