21-year-old whisky offers a much stronger taste than others. While some aged whisky loses its sweet flavour and becomes peated, middle-aged whisky retains that sweet taste while adding smoky undertones.
Younger whiskies are fairly sweet, including florals and fruits, whereas older whisky is stronger, tasting of peat, smoke, malts and grains. This makes for a perfect balance for 21-year-old whisky.
