21 Years Whisky

21-years whisky is extremely diverse. At this age, you can start to taste how distinct they are from other Scottish regional and distillery whisky. However, they typically have the following flavours in common:

What Makes a 21-Year-Old Whisky Special?

21-year-old whisky offers a much stronger taste than others. While some aged whisky loses its sweet flavour and becomes peated, middle-aged whisky retains that sweet taste while adding smoky undertones.

How Does a 21-Year-Old Whisky Differ From Younger or Older Whiskies?

Younger whiskies are fairly sweet, including florals and fruits, whereas older whisky is stronger, tasting of peat, smoke, malts and grains. This makes for a perfect balance for 21-year-old whisky.

Should I Let a 21-Year-Old Whisky Breathe Before Drinking?

Yes, it is customary to let older whisky breathe before drinking. We recommend waiting between one and ten minutes after pouring the whisky.
