Kavalan Whisky
Our limited collection of Kavalan whisky was handpicked by our expert connoisseurs. Each bottle displays a simple and elegant label that is instantly recognisable. Even the taste is spectacular once matured in American ex-bourbon casks with hints of tropical fruit.
Founded in Taiwan in 2005, Kavalan distillery was built in just nine months with the hope of lasting many generations. Despite opening to the public in just 2008, it won its first award in 2010 and became a world favourite one year later.
Kavalan Distillery
Kavalan distillery takes huge pride in its high-quality ingredients. Sourcing pure water from snowy and central mountains and following a rigorous process, each batch is matured in tall, warm towers that brings out the oaky flavour more than any other whisky.
For dinner, pair Kavalan whisky with a seasoned duck or seafood dish, and chocolate cake or fruit platter for dessert. If you prefer a light snack or require an appetiser, we recommend a light salad.
Kavalan whisky is made in Yilan County, Taiwan, in the town of Yuanshan. Owned by the King Car Group, the distillery is located in northeast Taiwan, where the subtropical climate accelerates the ageing process.
Despite being relatively new to the whisky scene, releasing its first bottle in 2008, Kavalan has quickly gained popularity. What makes it unique is Taiwan's warm and humid climate, which speeds up the ageing process, allowing the whisky to mature much faster than traditional Scotch. Kavalan uses a variety of barrels, including ex-bourbon and sherry casks, to develop a range of flavours that feature tropical fruits and citrus.
Yes, Kavalan is a single malt whisky. Since its debut in 2008, the brand has expanded its range to include both core and limited-edition single malts. Many of Kavalan’s whiskies have received prestigious awards, including the Vinho Barrique, which was named World’s Best Single Malt Whisky at the World Whiskies Awards in 2015.
