Welsh Malt Whisky
When you indulge in our Welsh malt whisky, you will experience a variety of sweet flavours, including sherry, dried fruit and dark chocolate. Upon the end of your glass, you may notice a hint of spice and malt with a nutty aftertaste.
Nothing pairs better with Welsh malt whisky than the country’s finest chocolate. However, if you prefer a more balanced flavour, we recommend a salted steak with pepper chips, or a traditional lamb dish with a decadent dessert.
Yes, Welsh whisky is different from Scotch whisky. Compared to a peated Scotch, a Welsh single malt whisky has a much lighter and sweeter profile. Welsh whisky stands out due to its use of locally grown grain and the influence of Wales’ warmer climate.
The best-known Welsh whisky brand is Penderyn, they established the first Welsh whisky distillery in over a century. Located on the foothills of Brecon Beacons National Park, they have won two golds and two silvers at The World Whisky Masters 2023. Some other emerging and popular Welsh whisky brands include Dà Mhìle and Aber Falls.
